Dr. Victor B. Lawrence is a visionary telecommunications pioneer whose innovations underpin today’s digital world. Over five decades, he has shaped the Internet, broadband, mobile, satellite, and secure communications from Bell Labs breakthroughs in modems, DSL, IP switching, HDTV, and codecs to satellite radio and global networking standards. Rising to Vice President of Advanced Technologies at Bell Labs, he helped make high-speed Internet affordable worldwide and enabled secure communications at the highest levels of government. A champion of digital equity, he has expanded connectivity across Africa via submarine fiber networks. A National Medal of Technology laureate, Dr Lawrence continues inspiring future innovators.
