Matthew Weirich
Matthew D. Weirich is a patent agent in the Electrical practice group at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, based in the firm’s Washington, DC headquarters. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 2025 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and has a technical focus that includes controls.
Before joining Finnegan full time, Matthew gained engineering experience through internships in diverse settings: at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC as a radar countermeasure hardware engineering intern; at ExxonMobil in Houston supporting large power systems and transformers; and at Finnegan as a patent agent intern. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, he now lives in Washington, DC. During his undergraduate years, he was active in club sports and engaged with business and consulting-oriented organizations. He plans to attend law school to become a patent attorney.
